Does your window get direct sun?
The rainbow effect needs sunlight landing right on the glass. East windows get it in the morning, west windows toward evening, and south windows for much of the day.
A north-facing window gets no direct sun, so it shows the soft stained-glass look and no rainbows. If you want privacy more than color, our frosted film is the better pick.

What it does, and what it doesn’t
It does
- Cast rainbow colors into the room when direct sun hits it.
- Soften the view while daylight passes through.
- Hold on smooth and lightly textured clean glass.
- Peel off without residue when you take it down.
It doesn’t
- Make rainbows on cloudy days, at night or on north-facing glass.
- Hide what is inside at night: with the lights on inside, people and shapes can be seen. For privacy, choose frosted.
- Stick to heavily textured or pebbled glass.
Priced by the longest side
Pick the tier that covers the longest side of your pane, then type your exact width × height. A 21.25 × 46.75 in pane is the 48 inch tier. For a circle, use the diameter.

Big, round or many panes
Big panes
The film comes off a 46 inch roll. One seamless piece covers up to 46 in on the shorter side (46 × 80 in is one piece). Over that, we make two pieces at no extra charge and you pick a horizontal or vertical seam (47 × 80 in is two pieces).
Circles and odd shapes
For a circle, pick the tier for the diameter and write “circle” and the diameter in the size box. For rounded corners or an odd shape, order the rectangle that covers it and trim the corners while installing.
Several panes
One piece covers one pane. Fill in the Customize form once for each different size. Several panes of the same size: one item, with the cart quantity set to the number of panes. Our order card lists them all for you.
Small French-door panes? For panes up to 6 × 12 in there is the Rainbow 10-pack for French doors (opens Amazon in a new tab): ten pre-cut 6 × 12 in pieces for $22.99 (smaller panes: trim the piece to fit). Bigger Rainbow French-door panes use this page’s Rainbow custom listing for now: fill in the form once for each different size, with the cart quantity set to the number of panes of that size.

Spray, place, squeegee
Wet the adhesive side and the glass with mild soapy water, place the film, spray the front, then squeegee from the center out. A large pane is easier with two people.
