Removable window film that peels off without residue
Both SHINECOR films use a low tack adhesive. They go on wet with soapy water, hold flat on the glass, and when it is time for a change you lift a corner and peel the film away: it comes off without residue.
What you need
- A spray bottle with a few drops of liquid soap in water
- The squeegee from the tube
- A razor blade and glass cleaner
1How it holds
A light bond, not a strong glue
The adhesive on SHINECOR film is low tack: a light bond designed to hold the film flat on clean glass, corners and edges included. Because the bond is light, the film lets go cleanly when you peel it.
It needs flat contact to hold, so it suits smooth and lightly textured glass, not heavily textured or pebbled glass (check your glass).
2Putting it up
On with soapy water
- Clean the glass. Spray soapy water, gently scrape with a razor blade, then glass cleaner until it is spotless.
- Peel the liner. Lay the film flat and slowly separate it from the liner, adhesive side up.
- Wet both. Spray the adhesive side and the window generously, so you can slide the film into place.
- Squeegee from the center out. Spray the front a little and push the water out toward the edges.
- Let it dry. A little trapped water is normal and evaporates within the first week.

3Fixing a mistake
Crooked edge or a big bubble? Peel and redo
Right after install the film is still easy to move. Bigger bubble or a crooked edge? Peel the film back, spray more soapy water and squeegee again from the center out.
Small bubbles after install are trapped water. They shrink and disappear within the first week. Wait a few days before a final window cleaning.
On wet glass the film slides until you squeegee it down.
4Taking it down
Off without residue
Moving, redecorating or switching films? Lift a corner with a fingernail and peel slowly. The low tack adhesive comes away with the film, and the glass is left clean.
Start at a corner
Lift one corner and pull back low and slow, close to the glass.
Wipe the glass
A quick clean with glass cleaner removes water marks from the install.
Change your mind later
Peeling it off is quick, so a window is never stuck with one look.

Check your lease first
The film peels off without residue, but leases differ. Check your lease before you put anything on the glass.

Before you buy
Frosted film blurs the view by day and at night, but at night with the lights on inside, someone close to the glass can show as a soft silhouette.
